The National Indian Women's Health Resource Center is committed to supporting Tribal and
Urban communities by providing the following services:
Development and Dissemination of Health information for Consumers and Health Professionals
PowerPoint presentations, brochures, video on a variety of health topics including:
Cervical Cancer 101, HIV/AIDS, Mammograms, Osteoporosis, Lupus Erythematosus, and Cardiovascular Disease
are available on the website or by mail.
To promote efforts of women's research through setting a research agenda to be
distributed to native researchers, federal agencies and national Indian organizations, to disseminate
Facilitation and Technical Assistance
Staff and consultants provide strategic planning,
conduct focus groups for needs assessments, financial consultation, medical chart and compliance
audits, program analysis, program planning, and grant writing training.
HIV/AIDS Training, Curriculum,and Coalition Building
HIV/AIDS 101 training and other
more advanced training curriculums are available to communities who want to provide information and
awareness to their communities regarding HIV/AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections
(STI). In addition, information is available on how to build coalitions that will address the
spread of HIV/AIDS and educate communities about new testing methods.
1. The Circle of Positive Choices curriculum is available to train youth
in healthy lifestyles.
2. A Healthy Relationship Skills curriculum is also available to train youth in developing healthy choices and other skills
that they need in making good life decisions for a successful future.
